I'm passionate about Emerson because like it says in our name this is a community school at school for the community and a school by the community buy here for almost 20 years it's an amazing Community the diversity of our city exist. Emerson we are extremely focused on getting kids out of the classroom and having extra curricular activities how many things that are offered at they get experience before they even go to high school diverse kids real people a lot of exciting programs going on here really great place Emerson has been a wonderful partner you feel he's very proud to be in partnership with a really special school we also help with regime and enrichment which means we bring interns and after-school opportunities robotic seismic after school club tutoring Jack here is wonderful the parents are outstanding and you can also get a great deal of support from them and you feel like you are part of their family and that they are part of yours even with the staff it's a real family feeling my son who's in high school now is soaring why because you got the foundation here and Emerson like the academy system is kind of perfect because you get to like make friends with people that you had something in common with we have some wonderful students that support each other I have students that come in and tutor other students at lunch to help them with their grades the kids at Emerson really go out of the way to make kids feel comfortable and welcome them into the activities and things that are going on here we have Academy programs and we had different electives as a parent and as a teacher we have so much to offer with all the diamonds Emerson is critical in bringing Los Angeles back to a public school or a small community it's really showing what Public Schools can do to help me build our communities and be the hubs for students for families to get resources get a great education and to help our young people grow and some citizens who want her City
